Apple is said to be planning to implement Baidu search on iPhones and iPads in China.
A Baidu product manager is said to have disclosed that Baidu had finalized an agreement with Apple to integrate the popular Chinese search engine. He confirmed that the Baidu-powered search will be available on iOS from June.
Baidu accounts for 83.6 percent of the Chinese market, according to MIC Gadget's translation of the original Chinese report which also suggests that the news doesn't bode well for Google, which will struggle to "gain ground in China".
China has become increasingly important to Apple. Piper Jaffrey analyst Gene Munster claims that China's growing middle class is going to help Apple reach a share price of $1,000.
