Alienware unveiled its three new gaming notebook at the fourth generation Intel Core launch that recently took place in Sydney, as well as the Alienware X51 desktop.
The new notebook additions include the Alienware 14, Alienware 17 and Alienware 18.
The 14 inch product is targeted at gamers that need mobile performance small enough to fit into a backpack, while the 17 and 18 inch devices are desktop replacements featuring the latest performance hardware in a compact form.
The notebooks feature an anodised aluminium shell and magnesium alloy body that now features visual cues from jet engines and stealth bombers.
60 percent of the main mechanical components are made of various metals to ensure durability, and a reinforced plate is used to protect the keyboard.
The Alienware 14 now features an anti-glare LCD display with wide viewing angles, which is a response to user feedback for last year’s product range, with the vendor promising reflection-free gaming in “nearly any lighting conditions.”
The Alienware 17 has an optional 3D panel option while the Alienware 18 comes with a Full HD display with PLS wide viewing-angle technology.
Performance upgrade
The hardware in the notebooks has been upgraded to the full voltage, quad-core fourth generation Intel Core i7 processors, NVIDIA GeForce 700 series graphics, DDR3L memory, Qualcomm Ethernet technology, Klipsch speakers and Dolby Home Theater v4 audio.
The Alienware 18 is notable for offering NVIDIA SLI dual graphics technology as standard, with an overclocking option up to a maximum speed of 4.3GHz.
For users who want to carry their Alienware notebook in a branded bag, a range of Vindicator cases have been announced that fit the three new products.
The series combines urban and military iconography across products such as a backpack, messenger bag, slim carrying case, briefcase and neoprene sleeve.
Alienware General Manager, Frank Azor, said the vendor spent “countless hours meticulously thinking through every detail” of these products to ensure this year’s line-up is the “most amazing” the company has introduced.
“The new laptops and matching Vindicator bags are the latest culmination of listening and learning from our customers since we delivered our first gaming system back in 1996,” he said.
New desktop and availability
Alienware newest desktop product is the X51, which comes with a redesigned chassis that can be orientated horizontally or vertically.
Hardware wise, X51 comes with the fourth generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, graphics options up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670, and 2TB of storage.
The new Alienware notebooks, the X51 desktop and Vindicator laptop bags are available from Dell’s online store later this month, while select JB Hi-Fi stores nationwide will carry the products from mid-July.
