Monster throws its own line of Android tablets into the arena

Another day, another company making its own Android tablet

Android's race to the bottom seems to have inspired companies of all sorts to release their own phone or tablet device. Now you can count Monster among them.

The company behind HTC's Beats audio hardware, as well as the marked-up audio cables you see at your nearest brick-and-mortar, has announced its own series of Android tablets, sold exclusively at Walmart.com.

The company launched a 7-inch version called the M7, which comes with a proprietary Bluetooth-enabled feature called Time Correct. It also features a 1.5GHZ dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, miniHDMI, a 2.0MP front-facing camera and a 5MP rear-facing camera, and 16GB of storage, as well as a MicroSD expansion slot.

The M7 comes in varying colors and is available for $149. A 10.1-inch tablet, dubbed the M10, has all but been announced, but there are no details about it yet available.

It's unclear why Monster would venture into Android territory when it's been wholly focused on audio hardware and input. For the most part, this is just another entry into an already over-saturated market of Android gadgets.
