Vodafone's new pricing for international roaming will simplify over 20 different call rates for over 200 countries. For these countries, which include India, Vietnam, Fiji and Canada, roaming internationally will cost $1 per minute for a voice call.
Data usage charges has been slashed by 90 per cent to $1 per megabyte.
Vodafone made headlines for streamlining the cost of its international roaming rates last year, when the company launched a $5-a-day roaming add-on to its Red range of plans.
Now the carrier will expand the availability of its roaming cap to all Vodafone plans launched from April 2013. Customers on older plans will have to migrate across to a newer plan if they want to take advantage of the $5-a-day roaming add on.
“We’re opening this up to all our current postpaid plans because we want them to experience truly worry-free international roaming,” said Kim Clarke, Vodafone’s chief marketing officer.
“You shouldn’t have to adjust three different settings in your phone or buy a new SIM card to enjoy using your phone like you would at home.”
