Sony has dropped the price of its PlayStation 4 console as it readies for the Christmas shopping break.
Pricing for a 500GB PlayStation 4 has dropped by $70 to $479.95.
The drop keeps the PS4’s pricing on parity with overseas markets. The console’s price was dropped by $70 in the US and Canada less than a fortnight ago.
Sony’s financial report revealed lifetime sales of the PlayStation 4 console amounted to 25.3 million units in less than two years. Its growth surpasses that of the popular PlayStation 2 console, which sold 20 million units in 2 years and eight months.
