Western Digital has launched a trio of new products designed to sate the ever-increasing data appetites of consumers into the Australian market.
"Photos and videos are often captured as keepsakes of memorable and significant moments in life, and the notion of these being lost is a shame. Understanding that consumers care deeply about captured moments in their lives, we want to offer convenient solutions that enable users to protect and conserve their precious memories easily and conveniently," said George Saad, Western Digital's Sales Director for ANZ.
The company's new range aims to address three common consumer pain-points when it comes to storage. The first of these is the 400GB SanDisk Ultra MicroSD card, priced at $449. It's designed to counteract the current limitations of on-board storage in most smartphones but eclipsing it entirely.
Credit: SanDisk According to Western Digital, "Keeping up with the demands of today's mobile-centric lifestyle, the new SanDisk microSD card provides consumers with the freedom to capture, save and share photos, videos and apps,and enjoy offline content - all without worrying about storage limitations."

The second product the company announced local availability for is the SanDisk iXpand Base. Envisioned as an accessory that fits into the nightly charging routine of iPhone users, the iXpand base allows users to both charge their smartphone and backup their photos, videos and contacts via a single cable.
Credit: SanDisk The SanDisk iXpand Base will be available from December 2017 in Australia via JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, PC Byte, Harvey Norman at a recommended starting price of $89.95 for 32GB of storage.
The final product now confirmed for the Australian market is the company's premiere consumer cloud solution: the My Cloud Home. Accompanied by the larger My Cloud Home Duo, the new product promises to allow consumers to take control of their digital footprint.
Credit: WD Once set up, it allows users to easily aggregate photos, videos and files from both their computers, smartphones, USB storage, cloud and social media accounts into a single centralized location. Basically, it's a personal cloud server that can be accessed via a smartphone or desktop app.
The Western Digital My Cloud Home series is available in Australia now through JB Hi-Fi, PC Byte and Harvey Norman. Prices start at $279 for 2TB. You can find more information and pick up any of the above via the WD online store.
