The Telstra Tough Max 2 is the tough new smartphone designed for tradies, construction workers, miners, farmers, outdoor adventure enthusiasts or anyone seeking extra protection and durability in a smartphone.
The second iteration of the Telstra Tough Max is built tough and features Gorilla Glass for screen protection, IP67 rating (water and dust resistant) and a rubber casing to help protect against bumps and knocks.
Additionally, for those living and working in the more remote parts of the country, the Telstra Tough Max 2 is Blue Tick rated, 4GX compatible and includes an RF port (for use with compatible external antennas) to connect to Australia’s largest mobile network.
“Approximately 70 per cent of damage issues reported to the Telstra tech bars in 2017 were a result of bumps or drops,” said David Hunt, Head of Post-Paid Mobiles Consumer at Telstra.
“We know that phone durability and breakages are a pain-point, not only for tradies but for many smartphone users, so Telstra has worked together with ZTE to produce the Telstra Tough Max 2 and hopefully provide a solution for those customers looking for a hard wearing phone,” added Mr Hunt.
The Telstra Tough Max 2 comes with a number of improvements on the previous iteration. There is a new, larger five-inch screen, 16 MP rear and 8MP front facing cameras; 32GB of internal storage up from 16GB and a rear fingerprint scanner for fast access. Features also include Qi Wireless Charging, a large 3000mAh battery and the handset is also Quick Charge 2.0 enabled.
Telstra Tough Max 2 is available now at Telstra and JB Hi-Fi on a range of plans. Customers who take up the $79/month Go Mobile Plus plan can benefit from no additional phone repayments, a 12-month subscription for a Foxtel Now Starter Pack (valued at up to $420), choosing from Pop, Drama, Docos, Kids, and Lifestyle options (minimum cost $11896 for 24 months).
