Sony has announced they'll be offering their own take on Nintendo's NES and NES Mini hardware in the form of the Playstation Classic.
Sony say that "PlayStation Classic is a perfect fit for nostalgic PlayStation fans that enjoyed playing the original PlayStation as well as gamers new to PlayStation who want to experience classic PlayStation games from the 1990s."
Like the NES and SNES Mini, the Playstation Classic is a miniature games console that mirrors the look of the original PlayStation and comes preloaded with 20 original games including Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash!, R4 RIDGE RACER TYPE 4, Tekken 3 and Wild Arms.
It'll come bundled with a HDMI cable for connecting to an external displays such as TV monitors and a Micro USB cable but not an AC Adaptor - which you'll need to power the mini console.
Sony say that select titles will support two-player multiple using the two controllers included with the console.
The Playstation Classic will launch in limited quantities on December 3, 2018, in Japan, North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The mini console will be available at a recommended retail price of $149.99 AUD.
