After a relatively-quiet 2018, HyperX has shown off a new gaming mice, headsets and microphones at this year's CES.
The most impressive piece here is the new Cloud Orbit and Cloud Orbit S gaming headphones. Co-developed with audio brand Audeze. Both new headsets feature Audeze's patented 100mm Planar Magnetic Drivers and spatial audio tech.
“HyperX is pleased to expand our gaming headset lineup by partnering with Audeze to develop our first wired headset using Planar Magnetic technology,” says Mark Leathem, general manager, HyperX.
“Working with Audeze and Wave NX technology, we continue to provide new and innovative audio products for the gamer community to use and enjoy.”
When worn, HyperX say you'll be able to experience a "stable hyper-realistic 360-degree audio environment." The company say that the tech inside the Cloud Orbit and Cloud Orbit S will ping the positioning of your head about 1000 times a second and adjust the audio experience accordingly.
Beyond that, the Cloud Orbit and Orbit S boast support for advanced audio customization, personalized 3D audio settings, a detachable noise cancellation mic with a pop filter. Three detachable cable options are also included, allowing you to use the headset with either a PC, Console or mobile devices.
“There is really no medium that can benefit more from our product than gaming, so we’re partnering with HyperX to bring our award-winning sound to the wider audience of gamers. We want to change the way people experience games and give them an edge in head-to-head play,” says Sankar Thiagasamudram, founder and CEO of Audeze.
Australian pricing and availability is yet to be determined but the US gamers will be able to pick up the HyperX Cloud Orbit and Cloud Orbit S later this year for $299.99 and $329.99, respectively.
