Shown off at this year’s CES, ASUS have finally detailed just when their Mothership gaming PC will be coming to Australia - and just how much it’ll cost.
On display at this year’s IEM Sydney, ASUS say the ROG Mothership will be available locally from the end of June at an RRP of $9999. This high-end price-point makes it the most expensive gaming PC in ASUS’ local range.
According to ASUS, the driving factor behind the Mothership’s unique design is cooling.
They say that “conventional clamshells limit cooling and lock into a fixed position in order to fit a form factor that can sit on a lap – a good compromise for a lot of laptops, but desktop replacements are too heavy to sit comfortably, so ROG has reimagined the form factor to improve the experience.”
“Instead of lying flat on a desk, the ROG Mothership stands tall to give the cooling system unrestricted access to airflow at the back.”
The keyboard for the Mothership can also be separated from the display - allowing you to use it wirelessly when needed. Doing so also reveals a row of four speakers.
Locally, the ROG Mothership will be equipped with a 17.3-inch UHD IPS display, i9-9980HK , RTX 2080 graphics, 4x 16GB of RAM and 3x 512GB of PCIE storage.
