The HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile Printer is an ideal printer for those constantly on-the-go or short on office desk space due to its small footprint and size. Compact enough to fit into your backpack, briefcase or carry-on luggage but still able to print, scan and copy A4 documents with ease. A mobile business often has the need to print, sign and scan documents such as contracts which makes the 10 page document feeder another bonus.
As a business working in events, we are always on the road or onsite and in our dealings with our clients, vendors and venues, we often receive contracts, forms, agreements and other documents that need revision and signing with a strict turn around time for approval so it is important that wherever we are, city or state we are able to print and sign and have these returned as a critical step in our event planning processes. Other times, we will be on site at an event, and will require additional copies of event run sheets and programs for new staff, and the HP OfficeJet 250 is perfect for this when we are not near an office space or have access to a printer.
When printing full colour documents the quality was vibrant with only a slight noticeable difference in the printing speed when compared to monochrome printing. The printer didn’t generate much noise at all when printing documents, although it also has a ‘quiet mode’ function which makes all print jobs even quieter albeit a little slower when needing to print during an event.

Sending a full colour image to the printer through wifi was pretty much instantaneous taking only a few seconds.
The intuitive 6.73cm colour touch screen display supports the inbuilt features of the printer, with its easy to access menu and as well as useful animations throughout the help menu to help get you setup and started. Much like a smartphone device, you can swipe through the menus and windows as well as configure the settings using the onboard keyboard.
Scanning and copying was also a breeze, with excellent results, the quality produced was almost identical to the original. The options to scan direct to email, computer or USB was also useful in the case where these documents need to be accessed by other people.
After initially charging the battery, I used it for a week and a half before it reached the 25 per cent mark. This included sitting idle and connected to wifi, and printing throughout the week both colour and black and white pages. It was also a handy feature that the supplied USB cable can double as a charging source for the battery, making it easy to charge on the road through your car charger or even through a power bank.
For a multi-function all-in-one mobile unit I would rate this a 4 out of 5. You can’t go past the HP OfficeJet 250, although it is a little more expensive to run in the long term (cost per print), for those on the move, it is a great all rounder in terms of performance and design compared to others in the market offering the same features.
