The Indentikey Web security solution not only authenticates the user, but it also lets the security administrator decide which of the individual pages at a site should be accessible to the user.
The Indentikey solution consists of Indentikey Manager, which is installed on a Windows NT server, and on the client side each registered user requires an Indentikey digital access token. With this token the user is able to access their individually secured Web site portfolio through a Java-enabled browser.
The PIN-protected digital token reads a flashing barcode from the PC screen and produces a token-specific response which the user enters via the keyboard.
Identikey Authentication is achieved through a time-based challenge-response protocol. The server transmits a challenge in the form of a flashing Java applet which expires after a few minutes. The token-specific response allows the server to identify the user and thus grant or deny specific access.
The recommended system configuration is Windows NT 4 or later, with Microsoft Internet Information Server 4 or later. Pricing is based on a single fee per server and then user licence packs depending on the number of tokens installed on a server.
