Cornea's 1080PRO is a 37in Full HD LCD television with a 6500:1 dynamic contrast ratio. With a panel produced by LG it has reasonable credentials and can display a good quality picture in the right viewing conditions. It doesn't do too much to stand out from the crowd of similar budget televisions, but it's still a decent television at a fair price.

The Cornea 1080PRO LCD television has a rounded black bezel with a translucent bottom edge. The design isn't groundbreaking but it is simple and the TV is surprisingly well constructed — it reminds us of the Sharp AQUOS LC37D53X. The remote is also generic but functional. The television's buttons are clustered on the right side of the bezel, and are well labelled and easy to operate.

Like the majority of budget LCD televisions, the Cornea 1080PRO has a small range of connections on its rear panel. Two HDMI ports are the ones most likely to be used for connecting Blu-ray players and digital video recorders, but older devices are also supported with single component, composite, VGA and S-Video connectors available.

Picture quality is reasonable for the Cornea 1080PRO's $899 price tag. The 1080p Full HD screen has a 6500:1 dynamic contrast ratio with backlight adjustment enabled. Backlight transitions are sometimes a little slow — especially when moving from a bright white to dark black scene (best typified in the opening scenes of The Dark Knight) — but for the majority of television and movie watching we found the dynamic contrast adjustment unobtrusive.

The 1080p screen allows a decent amount of fine image detail to be seen in Blu-ray and other high-definition video. There's no 100Hz mode to smooth out video from a 50Hz or 25Hz source, which might turn away avid sports viewers, but the panel is capable during regular viewing. Upscaling of 480p and 576p DVD content is adequate but we did notice a small amount of artefacting and over-sharpening.

The speakers of the Cornea 1080PRO are fine for listening in a small to medium room. At low and moderate volume levels, they produce a sound that is clear and clean albeit lacking mid-range. Higher volume levels introduce a small amount of distortion, so an external sound system would be recommended if you're going to watch movies.

If you're searching for a budget television with reasonable image credentials, the 37in Cornea 1080PRO should fit the bill.
