Sony Ericsson's latest Android phone, the XPERIA Neo, has been given a hands-on preview two weeks before its official release.

UK site Techradar has published a full hands-on preview of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo, previously codenamed Halon. The XPERIA Neo is expected to launch at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, which runs from 14 – 17 February and is a replacement for the Sony Ericsson Vivaz smartphone.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo will run the latest 2.3 Gingerbread version of Google's Android platform, and will sit alongside the already announced Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc as one of Sony Ericsson's flagship Android devices for the first half of 2011.

Other confirmed specifications of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo include:

4in capacitive touchscreen with 480x854 resolution
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
DLNA
Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP
8-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash
microSD card slot
1 GHz Qualcomm processor
512 MB RAM
