Windows 2000 - Make it your own

One of Windows 2000's quirks is a menu system that will sometimes display all the items at once - and sometimes display a couple of little arrows along with a fraction of your menu items. Why does it do this? Well, Windows 2000 can tell if you haven't been using an application for a while and will attempt to make things easier for you by hiding those unused programs. This can be very annoying, but thankfully it can be turned off simply by navigating to Start-Settings-Taskbar & Start Menu. Unclear the box that says "Use Personalized Menus", click Apply and OK.

The same feature lurks in Internet Explorer. To disable it there, go to Tools-Internet Options. From the Advanced tab uncheck "Enable Personalized Favorites Menu" and click OK.
